Monday 4th November 2019 saw the official opening of the Thornhill Primary wrap-around service. The breakfast club is free to all children after 8am as it is subsidised by the Greggs foundation. The breakfast club, which runs from 7.30 am during term-time, provides children with a nutritious breakfast and a calm start to the working day. The school also offers after school provision until 5.30pm.
The new purpose-built Wrap facility was officially opened by the Gregg’s foundation mascot ‘Hope’ who delighted the children with a special appearance! The children also tucked into warm croissants and fresh fruit salads. Also there to open the facility was Jonathan Johnson, the CEO of West Lakes Multi-Academy Trust. The school joined the trust in September 2019 and West Lakes MAT have fully supported the project. He enjoyed his croissant for breakfast and spent time talking to the children about the breakfast club and recognised how much the children valued the time together.
