August 2008

West Lakes Academy (Outstanding) formed from the merger of two failing secondary schools

June 2018

West Lakes Multi Academy Trust is formed

September 2019

Arlecdon Primary School (Good) and Thornhill Primary School (Good) join the Trust

June 2020

The Trust was notified of successful bids for two CIF projects at Arlecdon and Thornhill Primary Schools in respect of roofing totalling £597, 854

September 2020

Dearham Primary School (Outstanding) and Flimby Primary School (Good) join the Trust

September 2020

Strategic School Improvement Capital Budget funding granted in respect of Flimby Primary School totalling £199, 887 of which the Trust  contribution totalled £47k, in respect of structural repairs and replacement of roof coverings

February 2021

The Trust was selected to be one of 87 national Teaching School Hubs. One Cumbria Teaching School Hub was formed.

September 2021

One Cumbria Teaching School Hub was launched

May 2022

The Trust was notified of successful bids for eight CIF projects totalling £1, 794 735. Trust contribution of £183k. The work included electrical refurbishment, partial replacement of roof coverings, structural repairs, fire safety improvements and heating system replacement

June 2022

Jonathan Johnson, CEO awarded an OBE in the HRH Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

December 2022

Change of Trust name to Changing Lives Learning Trust

November 2023

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (Good) and St Bees Village School (Good) join the Trust.

April 2024

April 2024 Kirkby Thore School (Inadequate) joins the Trust.
