Well done to the West Lakes Academy school choir who impressed the judges at The Whitehaven Music Festival on Friday and brought home prizes for best senior choir and best youth choir.
Year 10 Leon Watson also won the trophy for senior boys soloist.
Music teacher, Miss Chesher said: “I am thrilled that our students were awarded three prizes. For our year 10 students this was the first time they had performed on stage since 2019 and for our younger students this was the first time they had ever sang on a stage before! They all performed exceptionally well and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
